Nbc Poker After Dark Hostess

It was announced today that NBC’s Poker After Dark will film its 2009 season at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino.
Filming will take place Oct. 26-Nov. 5 at the Golden Nugget’s newest events center. Host Leeann Tweeden will return once again for all 60 brand-new episodes. The six-handed $20,000 buy-in winner-take-all format will still be in effect but with the addition of more cash games. The high-stakes live games made their debut on the current season of Poker After Dark and will be back by popular demand.
The show is known for showcasing the world’s best talent. Pros like Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, and Doyle Brunson have all made numerous appearances and are planning to return for more.
The fifth season is scheduled to begin airing on Dec. 29 at 2:05 a.m. Each week’s tournament will air Tuesday-Saturday in the same timeslot, and a special one-hour “Director’s Cut” episode that recaps the week’s action airs on Sunday at 1 a.m.

Poker After Dark’s newest season is filming right now at the South Point Casino in Las Vegas, and although the set is the same from previous episodes, there is a new addition to the cast.

Model and television personality Leeann Tweeden is taking over duties as host and interviewer. She is no newbie to poker, as Tweeden has been featured on the Mansion Poker Dome Challenge on FSN in 2006 and was the host of the 2008 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship that premieres this weekend.

Tweeden has a plethora of other television experience including ESPN’s Fitness Beach and FSN’s The Best Damn Sports Show. She has also appeared on talks shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live and the Craig Kilborn Show. Ranked No. 70 on Maxim’s Hot 100 in 2006, Tweeden will likely be a welcome addition to PAD episodes for viewers. Look out for the new season to air this summer.
